A nice quick half an hour excursion to see thousands of beautiful butterflies for free. Be sure to check out views from free telescopes they have set up From park can take a walk to beach. In addition by the park is a RV sales shop that you can walk through RVs which was also fun.

It was cold and windy and the butterflies were hiding at the rear of the park near the creek. It's a worthwhile stop nonetheless, especially when ALL the butterflies are there.

This grove won't take you a long time to see - perhaps 15-20 minutes, but it's absolutely a much see in winter months when the Monarchs are migrating. It's a short walk through the grove, and most of the butterflies are concentrated to one area of trees. There are 2 or 3 telescopes on site where you can see the... More

Went there on a chilly December day with some friends. I expected the place will be inside a forest, but it is basically a small park right next to the road. There are a couple of trees with clusters of really pretty butterflies. Knowledgeable park rangers have a lot of info available. It is a decent spot to stop and... More

The first thing I noticed was the beautiful scent of eucalyptus trees then looking up, I began to see the most lovely and gentle flights of several monarch butterflies grazing the branches of trees overhead. I was startled to see that what looked like a branch filled with brown leaves was really a huge cluster of butterflies. What added to... More
