Great place to do wine tasting, not crazy like Napa and Sonoma. Do it on your way up to Mendocino. Beautiful, low key

We were lucky, this was a surprise for us and totally unexpected. We are not local and did not have a great guide book, but someone recommended this place. WOW, we had sunny skies and enjoyed the drive. We bought deli sandwiches in Boonville. We stopped along the way at the wineries. Good for photos and walking. I am not... More

Went wine tasting at several wineries. Very fun, people are extremely friendly and laid back. This NOT Napa Valley.. leave your snooty attitudes on the other side of the valley and enjoy the great wine and people.

We have long loved the wines from this area -- whites (including a hard-to-find gewurtztraminer at Navarro) and pinot noir. Tasting rooms are pleasant, not overcrowded in mid-November, and there is good food to be had locally.

My husband and I spent the day driving through Anderson Valley. The green hills and sheep reminded us of Ireland! There were many vineyards open to the public to tour. You can also see many redwood trees along the way. **We picked up a map at a tourist information spot in Mendocino that listed all the vineyards. It was quite... More

This is a very interesting wine region. Quality is quite good at one third the price of napa valley. Beautiful scenery while drinking good wines/

Enjoyed touring this wonderful winery region in California. It's very low key but has some amazing pinot wines.

Get a room for a few days. Visit the abundant wineries that litter the road that runs through the Valley (CT128). Hike among the redwoods. Eat. Relax. Far from the tour buses and crowds of Napa or even Sonoma, everything is local and low key. Very much not a 'scene'. This is what wine touring out to be.

Anderson Valley is a treat for the Pinot lover. You will not regret it. So many wines, so much time. I really enjoy Lula, Baxter, Navarro, PhillipsHill, Toulouse. Goldeneye is great but a bit overpriced.
