This adobe fortress is an interesting place to absorb the history of Petaluma, Sonoma, and California. The self-guided tour lets one take the time you want/need to see the exhibits. Well worth the small cost.

I actually went to see a performance of Romeo and Juliet at Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park. It was the first time I had been to the park, even though I've lived in Petaluma nearly twenty years. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and...More

We found this by accident after visiting the barracks in Sonoma. Can't beat the price--$3 for all three historical parks. Self guided tour but such an interesting part of CA history. Got to see a rehearsal of Romeo & Juliet as a bonus.

We were looking for a nearby place with some shade to take a walk last Sunday and found this park. Lots of shade trees and a little seasonal stream. Interesting to learn about the history of Petaluma and see old photos. Huge, impressive hedge of...More

Just outside of Petaluma, is a quiet place to visit. Three dollars to visit and interesting. Each room has a display of the artifacts, spent around an hour and a half. If you have the time visit. Also, the ticket gets you into other parks...More

In California 4th grade students study the state's history. For those living in the San Francisco Bay area, a visit to General Vallejo's home in Petaluma is a very good place to see what living conditions were like in the early 1800's. The Adobe served...More
