Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I do not play golf but if you are there with a golfer, know that there is plenty to do and see! The scenery is beautiful, great spots to photograph. I had a great time!

I've heard/read this is even more sublime than Pebble Beach. I've got a friend that is "connected" in golfing circles and he laughed @ me when I asked him to get me on CP. I've got another friend that knows Condi Rice and he also laughed @ me when I asked him to get me on Augusta. So my life is a shambles and I can't tell you anything @ all about 2 of the greatest (apparently?) courses in America because I can't get on them. I did drive by the entrance to CP and it looked very nice.

No need to go into a long one here. With out doubt one of the best courses I have played in the world. The place is welcoming once you have a tee time set up. The staff are awesome and the prices in the shop are very reasonably. Our caddie was awesome. Can't wait for the invite back. Cypress is one the courses it is hard to sleep the night before "kid in a candy store" a true gem. A unique haven of the game.

Regards,

Goose.

Once you get past the ocean view holes, the challenge really begins. Fairways tighten and accuracy becomes the name of the game.

Cypress Point has been famously, and correctly, described as the finest 17 hole golf course in the world. After 17 spectacular holes, including the holy trio of 15, 16, and 17, the round ends on an 18th hole that is so pedestrian and out of context with the rest of the course that it is appropriate to skip it and put a bogey on your card. It will leave the memories of the 17 preceding holes more vivid. No shorts allowed on the course, and guest foursomes (nominated by a member) must step aside and let members play through. It is a small price to pay for the experience of Cypress Point.

Just the best ... nothing else to say. One of life's great experiences for a golfer ... not the easiest course to access but it is worth every cent and has been ranked #2 in the world for many years for a reason. Pine Valley has more good holes, but the walk and ocean views and history at Cypress Point are epic!

Anyone that is invited to play Cypress is extremely lucky! It is as good as golf can be anywhere, and i have played many great courses in this area, as well as Ireland and Scotland. the weather was perfect at 72 degrees, little wind, and blue sky. The caddies were very helpful on a course in perfect condition. I will never forget this day and round.

Playing Cypress Point was nothing short of a dream come true for me having played St. Andrews and Pebble Beach. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to play there along side my fellow employees from Pasatiempo Golf Club (another MacKenzie course built right after he completed Cypress just North of Monterey).

I may not have played as well as I would have liked, but given the surroundings and the history of such a marvelous piece of golf lore, just walking the fairways and limiting myself to 2 three putts, I was in heaven. Number 15 and 16 are a sight to behold and gave me goose bumps.

So, if you are ever invited and have the opportunity, don't pass it up! And should you get to the area and can't get on at Cypress, go to Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz for a taste of Dr. MacKenzie's magic, you will not be disappointed!

One of the best rounds of golf I have every played. I read the Match and suggest anyone else that likes golf does the same. Reading the book added to the overall enjoyment of my round here. It takes a lot of connections to get on but if you get the chance you have to make it happen. Just when you think the course can't get any better you cross the road to 15, 16, and 17. I can't imagine 3 better golf holes. Great experience and I hope I get the chance to go back
