Old Pasadena is the downtown historic business district of Pasadena, a lively and diverse city located just ten miles from downtown Los Angeles. This eclectic old town area features entertainment and activities for kids and adults alike: museums, galleries, and music events, as well as movies, shopping, restaurants, and outdoor cafes. Families often stop by after sports events at the Rose Bowl; this clean and safe district is pedestrian friendly and provides convenient parking and easy access to public transportation, served by major bus lines and two Metro Gold Line stops.

This area is really special if you like to shop. So many stores and restaurants to choose from, nestled in a very nice community. I like it here and the vibe is good.

We walked down Colorado ave in old Pasadena. It has some nice architectural charm. Unfortunately all the stores were national chains. Not that much to see or do.

We enjoyed this very walkable area. There are a ton of specialty stores and restaurants built nicely into the old buildings. Definitely worth a stroll. We easily spent a whole morning here. Lots to take in.

I'm not sure why they call it old. Is there a new? Pasadena, as my experience tells me, is ALL old! Maybe it doesn't count as a visit because my family comes from Pasadena and I was fortunate to live here for five years myself....More

It is fun walking around Old Pasadena, especially when the Farmer's Market is going on. Lots of fresh, organic, local produce happening with lots of free samples. Intriguing alleyways filled with shops and cafes abound.

It is our first visit to LA, we are a family of two adults and two kids and are considering to stay at either Old Pasadena or at LA Live downtown. Any recommendation, would be much appreciated.
