The EcoCenter is the headquarters for the Environmental Volunteers and serves as a nature center open to the public. Our headquarters is also the workspace for our professional staff who direct and implement our programs in support of our mission: To promote the understanding of and responsibility for the environment through hands-on science education. The EcoCenter is a community resource for environmental education. Through our location in the beautiful Baylands Nature Preserve, we have expanded our mission fulfillment to offer a wide range of educational opportunities for children, adults, and families!

A refreshed maritime themed building housing Sea Scouts and a non-profit. Not a touring destination but a nice visual addition to a Baylands stroll.

The EcoCenter is a community hub for environmental education, open to the public 4 days a week. A welcome touring destination with hands-on activities, lively events, art exhibits, state-of-the-art touchscreen exhibits, a green building tour, and friendly docents. The EcoCenter is home to the Environmental Volunteers, a nonprofit established in 1972. More

This historic building is now home to the Environmental Volunteers, an organization that provides wonderful nature experiences for grade school kids in and out of the classroom. Building has limited hours, but is an architectural gem and beautifully remodeled. Baylands Park trails are right outside, with great views and informative interpretative signs. EcoCenter is a nature center in Palo Alto Baylands area. The design of the building is Birge Clark -designed paddlewheel building. It is interesting as such to take a photo of. The center offers environmental programs and training. I am rating it average however as the hours are extremely limited. Check their web site for hours. They do have enthusiastic... More
