We asked a ranger on duty at the Trading Post to suggest a 3 mile hike and loved the suggested trails, first on the Palm Canyon trail, then back on the Victor trail. Trails are quite natural, you take your shoes off to cross streams and signs are minimal. Beautiful scenery.

Fantastic Oasis Scenery with many trails rated easy to difficult to choose; Make sure to do an internet search for Indian Canyons and download the easy to read trail and canyon maps. They are colored coded and will help a lot. Note that Indian Canyons are made up of 3 main canyons to visit: Palm, Andreas, and Murray. Palm is... More

My wife and I have hiked many trails in the Palm Springs area, including trails in Indian Canyon. This past January we hiked the West Fork Trail - West Fork North Trail. It is really a special trail. You have to be prepared for some elevation gain (I'm estimating 1,500' because I am to lazy to look up the exact... More

I wish we had more time here, but we were fighting the clock and daylight. 2 notable hiking areas are the PALM Canyon hike, where there are 1000's of palm trees in the canyon! Crazy beautiful... and they have hummingbirds at the visitor center at the Palm Hike. We only stopped there to have a very quick look and then... More

Park entrance was $9 per adult(less for seniors, students and kids), but worth it. The park was easy to get to and close to Palm Springs. We went on a Thursday afternoon and started with the Victor Trail loop which branches off the Palm Canyon trail. It was relatively quiet and a LOVELY hike with gentle elevation up and down... More

Palm Canyon Trail When you first approach the cabin at the beginning of the trail, make sure to look to the left (on the vista side of the building) for the hummingbird feeders which are always buzzing with activity. We started by taking the main Palm Canyon Trail for about a mile, then returned by connecting to the 2 mile-long... More

You'll find many free hiking trails near Palm Springs and Palm Desert. All lead up, up, up...to outstanding views above the Coachella Valley. But you won't find running streams and towering palm trees except in the hiking trails of the Indian Canyons, located just south of downtown Palm Springs. Try the many trails of Indian Canyons. If you like to... More

Reasonable entrance fee to a clean and well maintained reserve. I arrived on a weekday morning to a small group of other customers. The park Rangers are knowledgeable and willing to provide advice on the variety of hikes and level of effort. I selected the West Fork Falls trail. I initially came across several early-bird fitness hikers but within 30... More

The weather is perfect for seven sisters hike. River has water now and there's green everywhere. At the end of the trail there's a beautiful majestic waterfall. Your shoes will get wet from having to cross the river about 10 times. Be prepared for that.
