The P.S. Tramway Mountain Station is located at top of the tram, at 8516-feet above sea-level. After an 11-minute ride in a revolving tram-car, you reach the multi-level building which is the terminus for the tram-car ride up and offers a small bar, cafeteria, and, multi-level Peaks Restaurant, and outdoor patios, all of which offer great views of the valley... The facility itself is all about profit. The lookouts and conveyances (elevator, stairs, platforms, etc) are all low budget. The emphasis is on multiple points of sale for souvenirs and food. The movie room and film are equally lame and dated. So, while the tram is singularly impressive, the arrival facility is not.

We took the cable car up the mountain and enjoyed the view as it spun around. At the top they had a restaurant and bar. It seemed a little pricey, so I did not partake of the food and drink. Walking outside on some trails was actually fun and I enjoyed the fresh air.

A really not to be missed experience. Travel up through the mountains on the Aerial Tramway to the Mountain Station. This a great place from which to view the surrounding area or to walk the mountain trails.

The day we chose to take the tram happened to be one with a full on wind advisory and COLD temperatures. While our kids braved a hike, our grandkids rushed back to stay with us. The movie was a little dated for them and reminded us of the documentaries we saw in school back in the '50's, but the animal... More

This was the BEST thing we did in Palm Springs. It is breathtaking - in a good way! You can see the whole valley below. My recommendation is that it would be the PERFECT place to propose marriage to your special someone.

Stunning views of valley and mountains. Nice walking path. Sledding available in winter. 2 movies about San Jacinto Mountains and building the tram and replacing it with the new tram very interesting. Busy restaurant area with indoors and outdoor seating or you can bring your own food.

At the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tram you are at 8516 feet above sea level, and as you exit the tram car you are at Mountain Station. The aerial tramway is the world's largest rotating tram car making one complete rotation as it climbs from the base station in Palm Springs at 2643' taking approximately 10 minutes to... More
