This is a charming place. Just the right size for the subject matter covered, and just the right size for kids. They won't be over-powered by the experience; no frenetic crowds or loud, frighening displays. The only dark and scary place isn't: it's a closet-sized...More

They have gone from free and please give a donation to $9.00 per person. Really not worth the price. It is now run by the same people who run the "non-profit" aquarium.

Outside a large whale sculpture invites passersby to ponder this slug-like giant of the sea. This is a well-maintained treasure in Pacific Grove.

This wonderful museum has a little bit of everything Pacific Coast. There's a big grizzly bear in the center, although there haven't been grizzlies in California in a century or more. The exhibits are informative, well interpreted and fascinating. The garden in the center is...More

Fun hour or two to learn about Monterey animal and plants. Best sand collection ever. We went on free day but would have paid!

You’ll find a wealth of information in this small museum. It was amazing to find out how many species are native to this area. A great place to visit before taking hikes or other excursions.
