The Murphy Auto Museum, located in Oxnard, California, is a collection of over 60 beautiful vintage automobiles and Americana housed inside an 30,000 square foot facility. Our unique collection spans from 1903 to present day.

We are also home to one of the largest H/O scale train layouts, with many scale miles of track.

We are open on Wednesdays, 6pm-10pm and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am-4pm, or by appointment for special groups. We have exciting new exhibits planned each quarter in our main showroom and various community activities throughout the year. We hope you come visit us soon!

We didn't have much time here as we were in a rush to meet friends, but I was so glad I caught the last day of the Vintage Caravan exhibition. I suffered serious caravan envy! The vounteer staff were lovely and friendly too. We will return the next time we are in the area - museums like this must be... More

We visited Murphy Auto Museum recently. We were hoping to see more antique autos. Most of the autos displayed were classics with a few antiques. There were trailers, but you could not see the interior. We didn't think the $9 entry fee was worth it. If you would like to see a really good antique auto collection, see the Nethercutt... More

Visited here today. They were getting ready for a old trailer show but hard cars available to see also. Large small trains club is also there. Very interesting to see many ages are shown there and are worth seeing. Old to very new, must looked good to my tired eyes. Worth seeing

The atmosphere is casual and can be described as a "big boys shed" if you consider the huge model train layout. The cars are interesting and look to be driven often by their owners. Some of the exhibits are unique vehicles. If you're in the area you can visit this Museum and the Mullins around the corner to experience both... More

We went on a Wednesday night, and I believe we were the only visitors at the time we were there, except for the model train guys. There is a large railroad setup, very detailed. Very interesting cars, and what I found most fascinating is the fact that many (if not all) vehicles were privately owned, and really the museum is... More

This is a very nice small automotive museum to spend a couple of hours going thru. Most of the stuff belongs to private individuals who put their items on display and pay a fee for the museum to take care of. There were several unique cars along with vintage trailers, interesting auto related items and a large model train layout.... More

View an assortment of cars dating from th early 1900s to more recent models. Many of the cars are restore, but some show their age. The museum also has special exhibits. Model trains were on display when we were there. You can see it all in about two hours.

I took my 16 year old son here on a random father/son day, we were both happy with the experience. The suggested "donation" for entry is $9 for adults. We both enjoyed the visit very much all the car had keys in the ignition and had current registration tags which was pretty cool. The staff was very friendly and the... More

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad that you and your son enjoyed your visit. We are always planning new exhibits and parking lot car shows too. The Vintage Trailer Show-The Great Outdoors exhibit just opened. We hope to see you again real soon. More

This auto museum houses not only vintage cars but has an elaborate, fully-functioning model train in the middle of the building. What is another unusual and interesting feature of this museum is that the car keys are all in the ignitions! They ask you during registration at the entrance not to open the cars but you can take pictures. There... More
