I love RV camping here with my (3 little) kids. Pros: The facilities are clean. The sites are large enough so that you’re not on top of other campers. Some of the sites back up to the trail which is great because you can go on walks through the beautiful foliage of San Diego. The rangers are friendly and helpful. There is a volleyball court, work out area, and kids play ground that are all in good working order and are located in shaded areas. It’s CHEAP. Cons: Our first visit was a little confusing, we arrived after check in time but were told to proceed to our site. We did, but when the ranger shift changed the next morning the new ranger told us we were a “no show” & needed to check in at the front and that we would have to pay a late fee? When we got to the station there was no late fee. It was all very confusing . But no harm done.. The park is public, so if that bothers you having people around on the trails and near your RV that are not from the RV park that could be an issue. It was not for us. All in all, we come here several times a year and truly love it. Best place to RV in North County by a long shot 👌🏼

I had to look at the other reviews to see what people DIDN'T like about this place; ok, mosquitos... there is a LOT of standing water around here so yeah, I could see that being a problem during mosquito season, but I was here in January, so I didn't see it, and I've traveled extensively through the South and East so I don't think we could possibly have anything that equals Florida in July. Between the fear of being eaten alive by bugs and my dog eaten by an alligator, I couldn't get out of the South Fast enough. But that's another review... Ok, the bathrooms are definitely campground-chic, but they're clean and tidy. That said, yeah, this isn't the place if you're a potty-snob. I'm an RV'er and I have that kinda thing handled so this place was amazing. Beautiful hiking trails for my pup; don't off-road there are paw-stickies and poison oak about (they have tried to mark it). Super nice sites with loads of room and all laid out so that you're not staring in your neighbor's windows or having to enjoy dinner with them AND their 10 kids right outside your door. Nice fire pits, if you like fire, which I don't. A lovely pavillion if you need something for a gathering. The "lake" is more of a big duck pond. I avoided it because of the fair amount of "goose goodies" my dog tends to hoover up. LOADS of trees. Lots of shade. Close to everything in San Diego, and a fair amount in OC where I'm from. There just isn't much in the way of nice campgrounds with hook ups nearby. For $29 this is a must go to. Bring the bikes for the kiddos; lots of very safe bike riding area. 5 bars for ATnT if you work from "home" like I do. Don't know about Verizon. Don't care. But if you don't want to hear the kiddos whine they aren't "connected," and you're with AT&T, this place has your back. ;)

We camped in our RV for two weeks. I really liked the park, it was quite and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. It is about 15 minutes from the beach and close to shopping and downtown Vista or Oceanside. It has water and electric at the sites, a dump station is on site. I would recommend it for short stays of 1-5 days since you have to disconnect to dump your tanks. It would have been a four star except for thethe bathrooms, they don’t have doors or heat and it was cold 30- 58 while we were there. Shower and toilet doors were missing latches/locks and pay showers aren’t the best. After the first shower my wife took, she refused to go back. The water was warm but not hot and they wouldn’t adjust the temp. I asked three different times.

This park is virtually in my backyard so I go quite regularly. It's such a nice respite if you want a little bit of nature, quiet time alone, or a bit of exercise using several flat or hilly (along park and homes perimeter, near Sante Fe Rd entrance) trails for a walk of about 4 miles. Several Trails will either take you on a loop around the lake, off Hwy 76 and the Guajome Lake Road entrance, or to the interior of the park, and to a small hilltop with a lone picnic table, for beautiful views of the surrounding area. Every time I go I seen something new blooming. Thank you to the staff for beautifully maintained local park. Enjoy❤

Nice area to have a picnic - bring breach chairs, etc. or sit back and read a book. Parking fee. Can be very warm in summer months find a nice shady tree to set up under. There is an RV/camp area too.
