First third: amazing. Second third: challenging. Last third: a struggle. Granted, it was a hot day (90 deg. F.), but there were no working water fountains 'til like the last bit that was about a 10-min. hike from there to the nearest parking lot, where...More

A walk through Redwood Park always makes me feel refreshed and ready to go on. The main trails are easy on feet and tired bodies, and smaller trails can provide a good hike to the more energetic. After years of visiting the park for picnics...More

This park is probably the easiest set of redwoods to visit from the Oakland San Leandro area. It is also a great family park to do a BBQ or play on the lawn. It is a mix of both and is adjacent to some open...More

This is one of the most magical places in the Bay Area, and there is something for everyone. Check the Regional Parks website for hikes and events. There are 10,000s of ladybugs on the stream trail in January. Even little kids enjoy the stream trail...More

We've been coming to the park for 20 years, but we've only now discovered the southern end of the Stream Trail. We'd been walking the Skyline Gate Staging Area trails, but we had never gone to the other end of the park off Redwood Road...More

Great place to go run. Go mid week and you can almost have it to yourself. Make sure you have you maps loaded on phone because there's all sorts of trails and not the best cell reception.
