This center is well kept and gorgeous. There is so much to appreciate, learn from and discover. It is equally awesome for adults as it is for little ones.

On special evenings Chabot has their telescopes out for visitors to view events in the night sky. It's a wonderful way to introduce children, family and friends to this small but delightful observatory and museum. The exhibits are always informative and well-executed.

For East Bay folks, this is a great complement to the Exploratorium. There's something for everybody. A lot of hands on stuff. And volunteers showing different stuff every week. And connected to hiking trails as well. Plus great views.

Chabot Center is in the Oakland Hills above the city. We went one evening when there was a gathering of amateur astronomers - this happens once a month or so, and it's a good idea to check with them when they occur. The evening we...More
