The Met was a five-screen movie theater that struggled to survive in our mountain community. When previous owners had to close down, a team of local heroes came up with a brilliant concept of a membership-supported venue. The newly updated venue is comfortable and friendly, with a variety of first-run movies showing every day. The theater also offers classic films... More

The Met was able to reopen with the help of the community -- they are working at updating the inside as money allows -- We do have a movie house that show current movies and they are working to get more contracts with distributors so all will be available -- its a good place to go to spend a few... The Met is a great theater nestled in the Sierra Nevadas, letting locals and tourists alike enjoy a movie on the big screen. While they do have a membership system, you can still pop in for one day and enjoy the movies for only a buck or two more than if you and your friends went to the next closest... More

The best movie theater in the area was the one at Bass Lake - remember the tree growing in the middle of it? And the stairs so steep you just knew you were going to take a header down them? (Yeah, that is how long we have been visiting the area). But that closed down so when we were in... More

We have lived here for 15 years And when they almost closed, we became Movie Heroes. Great concept, for $57 a month my family of 4 can see as many movies as we want .

I moved to the area right before they closed their doors....... Shortly after they started the "Met Heroes" program and I quickly signed up...... Since having the Met card I go to practically every new and classic movie they show. The staff is friendly. Although the theater is older it works for me. It's fun to meet up with my... More

This is not a top of the line Theatre like the ones you can find in L.A. or other major cities, but that's not the point. There is a country Theatre that shows a limited, but current selection of movies and that is great. Very thankful that some people figured out how to save this great source of entertainment

This theater was recently reopened by a group of bright and energetic young people. However, unless you're willing to pay a monthly membership fee, you will pay $11 per person to view a movie---way too much for this small town. Snack bar needs improvements.

The theater sadly closed in late 2012. With the help of Matt Sconce, Keith Walker and James Nelson they reopened. We love going the movies at The Met Cinema.

There's quite a story about this theater. You'll find out about it just by talking to people in the lobby or before a show. The locals who bought into this place to save it get free films regularly. As a visitor, you can buy an all day pass, and the charge for the second person is reasonable. They stagger the... More
