Novato is a great city. The Old Town is cute and I love the events the City of Novato does such as the Antique cars and the Music and Wine Festival. You should come visit!

There are a few great stores and lots of good restaurants. It's not a place for a full afternoon of random shopping as there are a lot of speciality shops such as bikes, soccer, sweets, but there is a great bookstore that could keep you...More

Whenever heading to downtown or Old Town Novato, get there before 11:30 due to the lunch crowd and parking. There are quite a few good restaurants and cafes to choose from in old town: Batika Indian restaurant, Masa's Japanese, Grazia, Italian, Las Guitarris to name...More

Very nice walking with shops and stops for about 3 blocks. We ate twice in strip malls before discovering this lovely area. Plenty of free parking on a Saturday at noon.

This is a beautiful, well maintained area. There are no parking meters to have to feed. There are locally owned shops and restaurants with no evidence of chain stores. There is a great small town atmosphere walking down Grant Avenue.

Novato has a lot of great places to shop and eat. The best being Masa's Sushi. Truly the best in area!

The 2 negative stars are for the poor design of the "improved Downtown/Grant avenue", thanks to our Novato city officials. Otherwise I would give 5 stars to the local businesses

Try Hilltop. Preferably in the bar during happy hour. Nice place, great view, and an outside patio if it is a nice day.
