Great way to commute

Taking the Balboa ferry is efficient and affordable. The wait is never long. They anticipate the traffic needs and have an additional ferry available during peak times.

Just by walking on, as we sometimes do, to cross from the island to the peninsula, you feel as though you are somewhere else in time. Going back to the first day you remember the crossing, the first time we saw dolphins swimming in the harbor and thinking how did they get lost in here? Or a seal casually swimming... More

To move from the Balboa Island to Newport Beach Island, there are two possibilities, by road or ferry. The ferry is the most convenient, fast and fun way to cross this very narrow channel. The ferry is rather small holding only three cars plus a dozen or so cyclists & pedestrian. A very short and inexpensive trip with cash payment... More

Riding the little ferry from the island to Pennesuela or vice versa is fun. Great crew and nice scenery. Its a short trip so look fast or ride twice. Very well run with nice young guys making sure all are safe.

I grew up in Balboa, Balboa Island so riding the ferry when we are in town is like a blast from the past. Very little has changed. It is very beautiful floating across the bay on a sunny day. Highly recommended.

It's a nice Sunday morning ride and a great way to see Balboa harbor. It is a very small ferry and doesn't take you far but it's still fun and there are fun things to see and do on Balboa Island. Great for kids that have never been on a ferry before.

I love this Ferry. The ride is way to short and only lasts about 3 minutes. It beats going around the Island and puts you close to PCH. I take it whenever I am in the area.

The Balboa Island Ferry can fit 3 cars, takes 5 minutes at the most and costs $2. It's a fun way to drive the local streets and take the ferry back, especially if you can get a tour from the locals.
