Balboa Ferry is unusual experience as it takes just two cars at a time. Cost is $3 for car and 2 passengers It saves going around the loop of Newport Boulevard We rolled on and rolled off seamless Very safe and well controlled I would image long queue in summertime

Such a nice little ride on the Balboa Island Ferry, from the Balboa Fun Zone area over to the Island. Usually a wait, but it's worth it. We have ridden on it for many, many years and always feel safe.

Fast connection to the other side, and that just for only 1 US$ (one-way). For cars only 3 each time, yet intended mainly for pedestrians and bikers.

We took our kids on the Ferry for their first time. The ride was smooth. You can drive your car on but we just walked on. There was plenty of seating. It's a great way to get from the Island to the Peninsula.

If you are visiting Balboa Island, you can spend hours (literally) trying to figure "how to get over THERE". Well, that's what the Ferry is for. The small, twisty, dead end streets are cute and frustrating. GET A GOOD MAP. I mean the old school paper kind. GPS frequently gets confused in this area. I'm a local and have tested... More

These little ferry boats do a quick run back and forth between Balboa Island and the Fun Zone on Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. Drive on (a few cars per trip) walk on, take your bike on, it is all good. Gets a bit crowded in the summer. On a nice sunny day the views are terrific with every sort... More

I enjoy getting a different view from being on the water, usually as a walk on. Then allow some time to stroll the island and ride back. No traffic hassles and you've experienced a historic ferry for little cost or effort.
