Enjoyable trip on the river to view this.

We visit National Wildlife Refuges everywhere we go, with the primary purpose of birding. To begin with it was really difficult to figure out where to access this refuge and what it offers. The web site is sparse and the only map offered is small. We arrives from the California side and made our way down the west side of... More

We were very impressed with Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge near Death Valley, and enjoyed the beautiful walking paths and birding activities there. That said, Havasu NWR was very disappointing. At Catfish Paradise on a sunny February morning we saw just 2 coots and a grackle. We drove further to locate '5 mile landing' which is listed on the national... More

This is a pretty area along the Colorado River. We visited the Catfish Paradise, Pintail Slough and North Dike areas in Arizona to do some birding. Catfish Paradise has very basic accommodations while the other two areas are primitive. Catfish Paradise also has a nice dock/platform where one can fish or do some birding. Pintail Slough and North Dike, which... More

We went to the Refuge and watched birds. You can fish off the dock here. They have picnic tables and rest rooms. What a nice area. Great job!

Having driven fir awhile with a couple of kids and grown kids, we needed to stop. The Havasu National Wildlife Refuge was a fairly quick, but nice little hike over well-established paths to scenic views of the local natural wildlife. Bring your camera, look for birds, and enjoy the views.

A lot of fun for the family. Theirs jet skiing, boating and kayaking. And if you don't like the water they even have buggies you can rent to play in the dirt. Super fun place to visit.

Breathtaking views in the middle of the desert. Wildlife abounds and the fishing is fine. Five Mile Landing and Catfish Paradise parking and dock areas are amazing.

It's always amazing to that there is an abundance of wildlife in the Mojave Desert. And this place is a good place to view aquatic wildlife in the border area of Nevada, Arizona and California.

Birding the marshes at Topock meant walking more than driving but had we got to the Reserve earlier we may have been better rewarded. However a Least Bittern made this stop worthwhile as did a Belted kingfisher and a Canada goose that was following a pair of fishermen in their boat. Other than those species, there were the usual sightings... More
