First get a dog, any dog, then head to Alston Park. As far as parks go for humans, it is just as nice as the rest. But this park is a haven for dogs. Open with plenty of trails to run or hike on. My...More

Alston Park has been a part of our family of critters and humans since 1990. It's got a great blend of on-leash and off-leash areas, so it works for every dog parent! It's peaceful and picturesque, offers great sweeping views of Napa, and you might...More

We followed the Bay Area hiker 2.6 mile loop. During the hike we saw plenty of towhees, sparrows, and juncos, but we also saw egrets and a great blue heron. Most importantly, we saw at least 4 different hawks. There was a red tailed hawk,...More

I had the interesting experience of flying into this park in a hot air balloon. It is a hilly, park with natural flora and hiking trails. Great for a balloon-landing, jogging, hiking, and walking one's dog.I certainly wouldn't have come here otherwise on a trip...More

Alston Park offers both a large lease free area where dogs can run and two fenced areas. One area for small dogs and another for all dogs.

This is by and large a dog park - lots of dogs (off leash) with owners - no problems with that and there were some other hikers but mostly dog-walkers. Dusty and dry!

In the past we traveled with our Yorkie Nicki and brought her to the park every morning to walk. She loved the park and loved walking, she is walking all the parks in heaven now. We sprinkled some of her ashes at the park she...More

My dogs love coming to alston. The main area is off leash and they love running around. I believe the park is around 60 acres and has an on leash area on the back side that is a beautiful walk where you see a creek...More

I've taken my dog here repeatedly, and she loves it. There are several sections: a fenced area for very small dogs and second fenced one for larger to big dogs, which has several benches and a covered picnic table. Then there is the very large...More

Napa is "park poor" compared to many places, so you'll find that even a place like this that is remarkably ordinary suffers from overuse. You'll get some nice views over the valley from the low hills, but that's about it. The dog owners love place,...More
