Favorite venue around

Robert and Margrit Mondavi had theatre restored and it is stunning. They have a lovely tradition of showing old movies, narrated by the wonderful, beloved movie historian, Richard.

While there was no event scheduled during our visit, the waitstaff kindly gave us a tour of this lovely facility.

A couple of years ago we saw Paula Poundstone at the Napa Valley Opera house and really enjoyed it. At that time it was a theatre setting but when we went back to see Paula again recently, we found that they had changed it into a dinner theatre with a large number of tiny tables (probably two feet by four... Show and dinner were great.... the wine was ridiculously priced, but we had fun. Sit in the second section for a great view and break on the price.

Great food and open late when most places are closed. Live music too. Very good prices on food and easy to get a table, parking right across the street.

Lovely facilities for First Taste Napa. Upstairs area was decorated beautifully and made it seem magic. Acoustics are pretty incredible as well. Visited after earthquake and flood downstairs in City Winery. Would not have known if not told so.

Great to have a spot to watch a show and eat with friends. Large stage. Servers very attentive to the fact that audience is there to watch a show and not the waitstaff (they duck when walking in line of sight). Food is so-so.

Loved the venue, great food, great wine, would love to come again! We sat at the bar which was perfect for us, and the chicken pot pies were almost like my homemade, great acoustics, not a bad seat in the house...Leon rocked it playing all of the oldies!!

We saw a movie here and it was such a nice venue to see an old movie. It's a great way to end an evening of wine and food.

We have been going to shows here at this historic Napa Valley Opera House for years. We enjoy going. It is now run by the City Winery. As such, they now have dinners and more drinks with the shows they bring in. The show line up has also improved some with it now being part of the national City Winery... More
