Roadside parking is sparse, and you need decent shoes to hike in - I also recommend viewing Tenaja Falls during wetter weather, lest you find a trickle rather than a torrent. For the best viewing experience visits tend to be muddy. Setting that aside, such places (like Fish Canyon above Alhambra) are rare, local treats. Truly something that only a... More

Sadly, this is not as beautiful as it once was. The lack of rain has made this a sad little trickle of water into a shallow water hole. Also there is a lot of graffiti on the rocks. With that said, it is close to home and a nice hike! Don't expect what you see in the picture though! The... More

It takes a little while to get there from the highway through a tiny winding road but well worth it when you get there. There is a small stream as you head up the mountain then after a little over halfway up you get great views of the falls as you make your way to the top. Do not expect... More

We start our hikes at Cleveland Forest Rd, which is above Santa Rosa Plateau. Lots of shade after a few hundred yards. Beautiful scenery. Mostly narrow trail. Note to first timers or inexperienced hikers: almost entirely downhill slope going out, which means uphill coming back. Can go as far as 11 miles round trip. Must watch your water and turn... More

Wow, very difficult to get there. Let's start with the fact there was no gps/nav system working on my phone. Maybe yours is better, but prepare yourself to do without. From Tenaja Rd, turn right on Cleveland Forest Rd and drive down a (narrow at times) single lane road. You can stop at the first parking lot and take the... More

If you are expecting something spectacular….this is not it. This attraction is one you will not stumble across. You have to want to search these falls out. The falls are off forest service road 7S02 in the Cleveland National Forest. The road to get there is actually in better shape than most forest service roads. It is a one-lane road... More

The water is pretty sparse in the mountains. I have flown over this place 100s of times in a helicopter and it is usually pretty dry. If you just want the hike, it's a nice hike, but don't expect too much when you reach the "waterfall" Its more like a water-dribble.

I went on a 8 mile hike here on a warm day in February. I recommend you take a small car to the trail head as the dirt road you must take is narrow and treacherous. The falls and rock formations were mildly impressive. Be careful on the rocks near the falls, as it is very easy to slip down... More

It takes a little effort to get there, both by car to the parking lot and the relatively short and easy walk to the falls. Visit in the spring when there is a lot of water

Beautiful and fun hiking. Easy to hike and takes a long time to drive there. You can relax at the falls, they were flowing even though we had not a lot of rain that season.
