If you're in the area and you have kids, I'd highly recommend you visit this place. At the watering hole, there was this 1 couple who really loaded up on that water. We only did a single bottle because the wife was scared it wasn't safe. It was cold and refreshing. You could tell the difference between that water and... More

Many folks visit this park to fill their bottles with the pure spring water that pours from a wall of rocks. It's a pretty, quiet place with playgrounds and picnic tables in addition to the spring--which is one of the head sources of the Sacramento River.

We learned that Mount Shasta City Park is the location of the origin of the Sacramento River. It's amazing to think of this spring being the start of such a large river. There's areas to walk around in the park as well.

Many don't know this little park has the headwaters of the Sacramento River. The river literally seeps and streams out of the mountain . It's an amazing sight. There is a small playground for kids as well.

Went to see the start of the Sacramento River and was suprised at the park. There was an information board at the mouth of the river. We walked around the park for a while but it was very wet as it had been raining for some time. Would have liked to have stayed longer. Clean restrooms open.

I went here last June 2015, on a suggestion of a friend and this is the 1st place I've gone to get drinking water, where I felt IMMEDIATELY "fed" by drinking water! From that moment, I ONLY went there to refill my water bottles; I noticed that people come all over, including coming in from the Bay Area, with their... More

I love this park. There is a big spring that dumps into a big pond, with a trail beside it. Also a very large grassy area. It is surrounded by trees with an easy trail through them.

We were looking for a place to let our kiddos run around a little bit before a couple hour drive down to Lassen NP and we ended up staying for quite along time. The only other city parks this nice, in towns this small are Estes Park, CO and Buena Vista, CO. I would highly recommend spending some time here... More
