Very beautiful lake with a view of Mount Shasta. You can just visit or they have a trail that goes all the way around the lake.

This lake is a great place to spend a few hours or the better part of a day. In the summer the trail goes all around the lake (approx. 7 miles). Part of it is shaded so quite nice if it is a hot day...More

Beautiful place for hiking, and it's much warmer than farther up the mountain. There weren't many other people there, and our dog had a great time!

Huge late just few minutes away from Mount Shasta City. Has an amazing view, lots of hiking trails and a lot to explore.

Snow everywhere and clear skies! Roads were well maintained. This is a definite winter wonderland! If you get the chance visit!

It was snowing when we went so we gave up part way around the lake for a hike, but what a beautiful and peaceful area with plenty of parking and places for picnics

The lakeside is very peaceful and serene. The water is absolutely clear and still. Surrounded by high ground on all sides, the place is quiet even for North Cal. Good spot for sunsets too.

Fun, easy hike. Beautiful scenery! The fish were lined up at the bridge, but not biting when we went down to the lake! Still fun!

Many walking trails, beaches (the water is pretty cold), and picnic areas. We saw boaters and kayakers on the lake. The water was quite low, but so pretty. I wanted to spend all day there just chilling.

Spent a lovely afternoon at the lake this week. The water was quite cool (as it is October), but refreshing and clean. A few stand-up paddlers, swimmers and boaters. Love this place!!

Is there anywhere to access the beach that allows plenty of room for a family gathering that is also easy terrain to access? We didn't want to pay hourly for the recreation area as most of the party only wants to access the beach/water, not toys.

Hi there, Does anyone know if one can rent jet skis ( and get a lesson on how to use them) on the lake? Can kids drive a jet ski or must it be an adult driving? My 12 and 14 yr old kids really want to try a jet ski. Thanks in advance!

As promised, I was near there today & checked with the staff. They do not permit jet skies on the lake. They have other boating options but not what you are after. Hope this helps!
