We live just around the corner from the Reserve and have been here for 45 years. It's a great place for kids (and adults) to see the marine life in these tide pools. It's a very popular place for school science field trips. Be sure to check the tides before you come. Be sure to be ready to get your... More

This is a great time to visit Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, there can be lots to see on the rocks. One of my friends is not a walker, so the convenient parking made this an excellent place for a her to get the sense of the area and see the sea and shore birds without taking an extensive walk.

Incredible experience watching the harbor seals and exploring the tidal pools. Wear appropriate shoes and be aware that dogs aren't allowed.

Although amazing and unique, wildlife are not easy to find, even in very low tides. Moreover, there seems to be some kind of bacteria in the water, so it could probably affect the life there. Last, there are totaly no signs...

Had such a cool experience at this amazing place. We went when the tide was low as suggested by the website. We seen seals, urchin, star fish, and beautiful vistas. I feel in love with this place and want to come back to visit again and again! The place is awesome!

I'd looked up the marine reserve for our trip to Half Moon Bay last August. I was psyched I found it! The website was super helpful in figuring out the best time of day to go and I checked a few online reviews to figure out the best ways to take advantage of the site. We went early enough in... Awesome place for families with kids. We've been going to FMR at least once a year since 2009. Check the charts and arrive when the tides are 1 feet high or lower for best experience. Also check the weather as the coastal area can be very chilly and windy even in summer time. Bring a picnic basket and water shoes... More

Fun to walk along the rocky beach to look for marine life especially during low tide. Going during the week was great----less crowded! Though the Bluff and Cypress Trails were short, they offer amazing views of the ocean and of course, the cypress trees. Just lovely!

Remember to check the low tide times in order to see the tide pools. There's a main parking area with toilet and show-washing facilities. The trail through the woods at the cliff are amazing too.

Friends brought us here for a visit. Absolutely beautiful! Our timing was not good, it was not low tide. Be sure to go at low tide for the tide pools. Bring a chair and just relax. Waves were great, some running at right angles. Nice parking lot and trails.
