We took a walk to the Old Fisherman's Wharf during our recent visit to the Monterey area but were not impressed with what we saw. It is geared towards the tourists with plenty of souvenir type stores and restaurants.

Had a nice stroll down the wharf on a recent visit. Lots of good food and treats. Homeless distraction at entry.

Nice, clean and charming restaurants. Cafe Fina was farm grown garden products and almonds. Great bloddy Mary.

Totally dead during our visit. Nearly more beggars than tourists. Shops not as good as cannery row. Husband liked clam chowder samples though.

Old Fisherman's Wharf consists of several eateries, 2 overpriced candy stores, and a couple of souvenir shops. It's fun to stroll the pier, but unless one is sitting at a restaurant window, one does not see the sea otters, seals, loons, and people rowing out...More

Nice area for seeing boats, shopping, some wildlife viewing and some good restaurants. After seeing it visit all the other areas like Cannery Row. I don't need to visit the Wharf more than once.

We ha a good walk round the wharf, juts wished we had longer. We mostly spent our time spotting seals and taking in the gorgeous views. If you're in Monterey then of course visit.

This is a dense area. In high season (roughly May through October) it's over-run with tourists and can be difficult to navigate on foot. I imagine a wheelchair adds an extra layer of difficulty with that. The boardwalk is... More

They open around 9 or ten, but not really sure our first stop was the aquarium, that morning, breakfast shops open early, but once open lots to see and buy.
