I've thoroughly enjoyed myself at this aquarium both as a young child and as an adult. I'm so happy this aquarium is located in my home state. It's always a pleasure to learn about such a mysterious part of our planet. And of course the jellies exhibit is just the best!

This Monterey Bay aquarium has its strong points, but its downsides are considerable. It is built right on the coast of the bay, and its outdoor patios provide beautiful vistas of the natural habitat for some of the species in the collections. The playfully dramatic otters are amongst the cutest critters you will ever lay eyes on. They steal the... More

Very educational. Lots of touch pools. Otters, penguins, octopus and sardines were the highlights different than other aquariums. Feedings are very popular. Check the schedules and claim your spot early. Aquarium cafe has great views of Monterey Bay.

The Monterey Aquarium is one of the best in the world. It can be a bit crowded - so always best to go on a week day and avoid school holidays if possible. The exhibits are beautiful and well conceived. There is so much to learn here! Our favorite times at the Aquarium have been when we pick one area... More

Plan to spend at least 1/2 a day. The food there is also good. Can find parking in several garages or part a couple block away along the shore and enjoy a nice walk. Check the website for events. The place has hundreds of very enthusiastic and informed volunteers who will help you enjoy the visit. Many folks come back... More

We hadn't visited the aquarium in several years but were just as captivated by the exhibits as if it were our first time. From the otters, to the jellyfish exhibit, to the deep sea tank complete with sharks to turtles, all is wonderful and informative. Lots of interactive exhibits and all the children seemed totally entertained, especially with the hands... More

They have huge tanks and lots of different types of fish. Great fun for all ages. I recommend going during one of the feeding times. You can see a snorkeler feed the fish and leopard sharks. (11:30 am or I think 3:00pm)

I have been to my share of Aquariums and I have to say that the Monterey Bay Aquarium is first class! There are so many interactive exhibits that you could spend several hours there and still be entertained. The food at the cafe is also excellent and far superior to what some of the other tourist inspired "traps"on Cannery row... More

This is the best aquarium I've ever visited. The exhibits were amazing, especially the jellyfish. Give yourself plenty of time to view the exhibits--you won't be disappointed!
