A nice walk from the Montecito Inn

Beautiful beach, not crowded, easily accessible by stairs. Great place for a morning run. This beach is nice for children, dogs, artists and walker/runners.

Our family of four visited this beach during our stay in Santa Barbara and really enjoyed the several hours that we spent there. It's a lovely beach with plenty of walking space, and our kids especially loved the area closer to the Biltmore (which is stunning, incidentally); there are a lot of cool stones and shells on the beach there,... The sand is warm, the ocean bracing and we did spot a sea lion in the pounding waves. We gawked at the cabana club, an Art Deco beauty where the elite lounge around the Olympic- sized pool and probably dream of balls and BBQ' on the lawn. It's fiercely members-only and even the concierge at Belmond El Encanto couldn't secure... More

Really easy to get to Santa Barbara or Montecito. Free parking (it will get really busy on a weekend late morning on) and steps away from the beach. Best at low tide for a long walk, but almost always wonderful to access the ocean. Steps from the Biltmore. Dogs love it too

Spent the latter part of the day walking and running on beach with neighbors dog (very pet friendly) but don't forget to clean up . I believe poop bags are available so NO excuses. Easy to walk, plenty of rocks and stumps to sit on. The oil derecks are lit at night providing a great back light

Nice Bea h close to the lovely town of Montecito. Not paticulary warm when we were there but if you place yourself out of the breeze it was lovely. Dog friendly beach but owners were very responsible

Beautiful, quiet, majestic beach....across from the Biltmore Hotel (which I like to think of as my ladies room near the beach).......go for the lovely walks and the beautiful sunsets. I live in Santa Barbara and I always feel like I am on vacation at Butterfly Beach.

If you have a few hours bike from the volleyball courts in East Beach, past the zoo and bird refuge lake, around the historic cemetery, to the beautiful Butterfly Beach. This is one of my favorite beaches in Santa Barnara. If the tide is low, walk towards Miramar Beach and enjoy the beach cottages and old mansions above the sand.... More
