This highly-recognisable Modesto landmark is a quick must-see for visitors to the city who want to learn a little about its history. It is easy to get to by car. One can easily pose for photos under the arch.

I would not really call this an attraction. It looks just like the picture above. Simply an arch over the roadway. Our downtown is nearby and there are several places to grab a bite to eat and shop, but don't come here to see the arch!

I went to this part of Modesto just because I was going to have dinner nearby in one of the taco trucks then I saw the place from there and I decided to go. The place is average nothing special.

I realize it was an attraction back in the day, but now it's inbetween railroad tracks and an horrible, congested intersection bordered by a Taco Bell and a McDonald's ~ and the homeless live all around it. There's a Salvation Army right near it that tries to help the homeless and/or down on yr luck community. With all of this,... More

If you see, a photo, that's good enough. However, downtown Modesto does has much more to offer-from restaurants to "Mom and Pop" shops.

It spans the street and and welcomes us home. Not the greatest part of town now but in the day it was a big deal.

It's a landmark for the city of Modesto and we locals love it. However, stay in your car with the door locked, the area is now a terrible skidrow.

This should not be listed as an attraction or a place. Booooring. Just find the downtown and be happy there.

I love it its beautiful. It brings life to Modesto especially when its dark outside and the arch is lit. Up i just love it pretty cool beautiful way to welcome visitors and welcome people back home.

I was born and raised in Modesto, so this is a landmark for me...been under that many, many times! I'll probably travel under it many more times too!
