I stayed near Mariposa while visiting Yosemite National Park and came across the Hideout by chance. I'm so glad I did. The bar itself has a lot of character - the structure dates back to 1850. Brenda, the lady who runs the place, is super friendly and was very chatty with us. We went on a Wednesday night - karaoke... More

My wife and I were wandering around Mariposa on our last night there (a Wednesday) looking for a quick drink. Saw the signs for this place and wandered down the alley. We were a little puzzled until we finally found it. Well, what a place. Nice little blue grass band was playing. Dollar bills stapled everywhere. Dark and tunnel like,... More

This place is fantastic ... We popped in for one quick beer last night and ended up staying for hours. You HAVE to go here. Firstly there's the history - it was built in the 1850s by Chinese folks who came for the gold rush and the original walls and floors remain. The beer is great and the night we... More

Definitely hidden. We were looking for a bar with a little "off the beaten path" sort of ambiance. This dos it. I love it. Great place. I wil be back. Friendly crowd. Good to relax after a day of hiking.

Loved this place. Such a friendly welcome. Off the main street and not with the general bars and restaurants. Had a brilliant night, live music was excellent. Lady who ran the bar, cant remember her name, so must have been a good night, was so friendly and looked after us all night, big hugs when we left! Definitely recommend.

We wanted to listen to some music and have a few drinks one evening in Mariposa. A lack told us about the Hideout Saloon so off we went. It was a Wednesday night so not very busy. We had a few wines and chatted to Brenda behind the bar while a band rehearsing bluegrass music in the back room. nt... More

Visiting Mariposa and needing a drink? Stop here. It's a great hole in the wall and the servers are fun and friendly. Do indeed stop!

We popped in for a couple of drinks a few weeks ago. Met Andy the owner who was friendly and chatty, he was playing in a band the next night in San Francisco and told us we would be welcome as we too were heading to san francisco. We also met a real local character called Doc, he was also... More

Although this was not open when adverstised we found it open later and popped in for a drink. Loved the look of the place and can certainly see how it would be great in the evening when a live band was playing. The bartender was helpful and was happy to let us know what was on offer. There was a... More

Small, divey and perfect for a drink and a visit with locals and tourists alike. Brenda runs the bar - she is a former wrestler from the Hulk Hogan days and quite the character. Bill is a local who was there with his guitar singing and playing for us. Just go there and hang out for a spell.
