New tasting room improves ambiance tremendously

Had both the classic & reserve tastings and they offered a taste of the nebbiollo. Delious wines! Spacious tasting room with a nice alcove that you can bring food into. Very hospitable.

We made a stop in Los Olivos on our way back from the beach with the temp registering 105. Where a bit overwhelmed by the choices downtown. We settled on Qupe because we had good recommendations for Epiphany and they seem to have taken over that location. Giving them the benefit of average as we weren't exactly in a great... More

They have fully relocated to the new room (nearby the old spot) and it is much larger and has better seating. If you are lucky, you'll see the opening for the large country table. That's the best seating for a group. They have improved their wines as well; if you haven't tasted Qupe in a couple years, you should try... More

Matter of fact, I don't drink. But, those with me do. They liked it and the location was very nice. The staff was awesome and very friendly. They didn't mind that I brought a lemonade in. The building was great, the atmosphere nice and cool. Its definitely worth a look see if your in town. All the shops and food... More

I enjoyed my visit and was surprised at how I much I loved the White Wines. The staff was great and very informative. I was treated like a King and was able to try just about everything I wanted to try. I was very impressed by the Rhone Style Grenache Rose sold under the "Verdad" label. Qupe is one of... More

Top shelf wines presented in a relaxing setting. One of the few tasting rooms where the current releases and "library" are present and available. Large format bottles are available as well (and at very fair prices.) Tasting room staff was spectacular!

PLUSES: 1. Qupe wines are pleasant, a little lush and somewhat complex. 2. They sell their wines in half bottles, a handy size for certain occasions. MINUS: 3. The tasting room is a contrived store front.

Over the course of several weeks, we visited many if not most of the tasting rooms in Los Olivos. This was my least favorite. Expensive, nothing extra, no crackers, no ambience (the other patrons were more fun than the host -- thank goodness for them or I might have to just give one star). Dull, boring. Get someone lively behind... More

Tasting room in Los Olivos, on a quaint street filled with wineries. We had a good wine tasting experience there and enjoyed talking with the host. We thought the wines were just ok, nothing special.
