I'm really bummed about my last experience at the Brig. The drinks were great, it was a daytime trip, and the vibe was so casual and relaxing. Initially, the bartender was charming and fun ... then after our first drink she totally forgot about us. She served the other half of the bar - going around twice and never came... More

We had a beer before dinner at GJelina, right down the block so we could sit. Good draft beers and the bartender was helpful. Nothing on Abbot Kinney is cheap, but the quasi industrial look and not overpowering music worked.

My wife and I stopped here for drinks before dinner on Abbot Kinney and we had a good time. The vibe is pretty hip and kind of like a nightclub, but we were able to find seats at the bar easily and the bartenders were quick and polite. Also, the beer, mixed drinks, and liquor selections were great. The only... More

Had some drinks here after dinner. Low profile and relaxed atmosphere, also fair priced beers and cocktails. Fun place to have some late night drinks. Foodtruck's outside for a midnight snack if you need one :)

Restaurant is on beach, no beach view. Restaurant inside looks run down but service is friendly, fast, and very good. Macadamia chicken is amazing!!

The pros: The atmosphere, stiff drinks and the people. Fun, friendly, lively. I was there on a Friday night from 10/11PM to close. As the night went on, the energy picked up and more people were dancing. Very diverse crowd. Straight and gay couples, all ethnicities, mostly 30's from what I could guess. The music seemed tailored to a 30-something... More

Local house bands drop in here and often are surprisingly good. Locals and some often beautiful people mix easily here, and the sometimes appearing stunner who you will have to marry. When this place lines up with the stars, it's unbeatable.

I liked the music and interior of this bar. But one toilet for the entire place is so so poor. Sadly it's all too common in the US. The bathroom was clean enough, but they should add a few more. The bar is in a good location. It's friendly and the prices are reasonable for drinks. I went there on... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
