About
The Los Angeles Convention Center attracts millions of visitors annually and is renowned internationally as a prime site for conventions, trade shows, and exhibitions. Located in the cultural, business, and entertainment mecca of Downtown Los Angeles, the LACC is an integral economic component of the Southern California area, and remains an enduring symbol of environmental sustainability and social responsibility for our community. First opened to the public in 1971, the LACC has since undergone modernization and expansion; as a testament to our continuous effort to enhance our facility and services, the LACC is embarking on its fourth phase of renovation under AEG’s management this year. The year-long transformation will enhance both functionality and aesthetics of the LACC, and will include replacing existing carpet, installing the latest energy-efficient products such as “cool roofs” and new air handling units, completely remodeling the theatre, and upgrading IT infrastructure and operating systems throughout the Center.

Neighbourhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our first time to an Anime convention. We were so excited. However, since 100,000 tickets were sold, you can kind of understand the low rating. It was terrible; way to many people. It was very hot inside and we couldn’t even see or literally buy anything!! Many things were sold out. Parking was about $50 - $60 to park.

All in one place! The Los Angeles / California Convention Center is simply monumental!!! The infrastructure is impressive and the services of the staff of the center is of high quality, they work like Swiss clock. The location is also a plus, as it is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, next to Staples Stadium (today crypto.com)

Very Specifically in the massive location I was hard pressed to find a single gender neutral bathroom. To my knowledge there are none. Given most areas seem to have around three sets of gendered restrooms, I hope the LA convention center will consider a minimum simple swap of the signage in, say, one of three or so bathroom sets of locations to denote gender neutral use with or without urinals.

Participated as an exhibitor for a very large conference. It’s a huge convention center. It’s nice and updated and the temperature throughout the week was comfortable. A few things irked my pet peeves. One, restrooms. Yuk. They were dated, messy, and ridiculously not private. You know the type. About 1 inch gaps voiding all hope of privacy. Another pet peeve, lack of any seating in the main entrance hall. No place to sit. It’s a huge space and not a single seating area. Thirdly, the meals were served in the ballroom which is a 10 minute walk. The conference food was horrible. All preset plates for more than 3k people. Food, sitting open for all the world to walk past sneezing and coughing over. The temp in the ballroom was another story. It was frigid and dark so you couldn’t see what you were eating. One day. That’s all I could do before bringing my own food and finding a quiet spot. There are a few restaurants nearby.

Seem to be well managed with easy access. Nice big and open spaces for any large function. LA Downtown not quite as good. Not recommended to walk at night after sunset. Lot of shady characters.

NO SIGNS stating it was illegal were visible, and it was clearly a touristy area, but the police (one was Jackson, #33397) chose to focus on a lone, well-dressed female crossing from a convention center to a hotel... HIGHLY suspicious of MOTIVES and NOT concerned with the fact that she (a doctor) was visiting from thousands of miles away. They also kept her license, only to return to the hotel later that night to "return it."
Rewarded her visit to L.A. with a pedestrian citation requiring that she fly back to L.A. and make hotel accommodations to appear (possibly more than once if for safety school), or pay the rip-off TICKET and "BAIL" amount of nearly $200!!!
Thinking of placing a convention or business meeting in Los Angeles? SERIOUSLY re-think that choice!!
The police in L.A. will harass your colleagues and clients and will NOT help make you and your gathering at all a pleasant one!
"SERVE and PROTECT!?!" NOT!!!

This is a great venue for the LA International Auto Show which is held here every November. The center is large enough to display autos from almost every manufacturer in the world. Also the restaurants serve very good lite fare food such as sandwiches, salads, hot dogs and hamburgers. The food is reasonably priced, service is fast, and seating is usually adequate.

Unfortunately, an event I attend every year is stuck on this venue. There is nothing convenient about using the LA Convention Center, not access, not parking, no hotels anywhere near the place. It is surrounded by the scariest barrio looking neighborhoods. No good food service onsite or near.
Also, WARNING they hold citizenship events here where thousands of immigrants swarm the facility- that is fine but you don't want your event here at the same time. You don't want your event here no matter what!

Attend conventions in LA on an annual basis and the building is definitely central to LA with many things around. Could use an upgrade as it seems old but the staff is very helpful and the conventions are well organized.

News reports the city of LA and LACC spent billions to put 5G public access wifi into the LA convention center.
No one is available to talk about it.
No one knows what the Network is, no one knows the password. No one can use it and nothing is being done. Shoulders are shrugged.
Posted numbers don't connect.
Is there Free Public Wifi in the LA Convention Center?
What is the name of the network?
Is a Public Password or app needed to gain access?

Can I reserve parking at the convention centre? If so, how? If not I’d just plan on getting there early to ensure a spot and I see from their website it states parking as being between $15-$30 a day, am I able to find out in advance or just have to pay whatever it is when I return to my car to leave?

Sorry I never drove a car at the Center

I read that the LA Convention Center has Free Wifi but it's in the cafe. I'll be volunteering at the Rock N Roll expo on Friday. But I need to bring my laptop in case I have to work. I won't be able to volunteer if I can't. Last few times I was there the Cafe was closed. Does this mean NO WiFi? And if there is WiFi how do I know where and how do logo on. I'll need to try as soon as I arrive as my work is time sensitive and clients can't wait for me to run to Starbucks.
Any help you can give would be great!!

Please let me know if you have any further questions, I am more than happy to assist.
