If you are looking for a nice, easy hike with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding homes then this is the spot. The top or Inspiration Point is surely inspirational. $3.00 per hour for parking or you can buy a pass if you live in California. Only negative is their port a potties are dirty, smelly, and there is not any toilet paper or water or hand soap to wash up afterwards. I don't go anywhere without tissues and antibacterial wipes, but beware you should bring with you.

I didn't know that I could tour Will Rogers house. I was so excited when I found out I could. I like Will Rogers. James Whitmore did a one man show as Will Rogers years and years ago which I saw and read a lot of Will Rogers writing after. I'm a fan. I love that he had a sofa size swing in his home and that's where he got his best sleep. I love that it's not ornate. It's nice but it's not showy. It was a cowboy's home. There is a film that's shown in the nearby museum that shows Will Roger's awesome roping skills. We also saw polo players in the field below the house practicing for the next day's match. I've never seen anyone play polo in person before. The polo field was apparently the first thing built. This was their summer home before it became their main home. It was turned over from his wife Betty to the state of California so it's mostly their furnishings.

Visited on 4th July as two visitors from the uk. Really nice walk up into hills. Great views from the top, with a nice cool breeze from the ocean.

Having been to Will Rogers museum in Claremore, OK, we were close enough to the ranch in Pacific Palisades that we wanted to stop here. Glad we did. The ranch house tour was very interesting and amazing how great it looked - just like when Mrs. Rogers left in 1944. Beautiful day to walk around the park too. It was only about 15 minutes from Malibu and Santa Monica pier. If you don't know much about Will Rogers, the guide will fill you in. Needless to say, he was the biggest American celebrity of the 1920s and 30s until his death in airplane accident.

A beautiful spot for hiking and picnicking, but definitely do the house tour! Even our teenagers had a good time. We'll be back.

We came to the state park to hike the trail to Inspiration Point, which was a nice, fairly easy trail. Fortunately, the weather was on the cool side so the hike was more pleasant than it would be on a hot day. After we ate lunch, we were delighted to find that the park had just started offering tours of the house this weekend after being closed for a year and a half due to the pandemic. The tour groups are limited to eight people (sign up at the front door of the house) but only two others were on our tour. It was fascinating to see the interior of the house and learn about the life and family of Will Rogers. Park guide Bill was obviously knowledgable and enthusiastic telling us interesting stories about Rogers and his family. An added bonus was being able to watch a game of polo. Matches occur on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer.

The park offers a nice restroom stop which makes it handy. Could have lunch or just chill in this park.

This is a great place to hike. The Will Rogers house was closed when we visited, but we toured it several years ago and I highly recommend doing so.

Great place to hike and the hike is easy for beginners. Wide and open, it has bathrooms at the beginning of the road. Perfect for children, pets are allowed.
