Incredible
Oct 2020
Harry Potter wizarding world was an easy five out of five from start to finish. The park is Disney esque and everything is perfectly harmonised. Rides were fun, park was clean, staff helpful, food range was good.

Awesome area, overrated ride
Dec 2019
We haven't been to Universal for a long time so finally we decided to check the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We are a family of 4 (2 teens) and visited Universal the week between Christmas and New Year. Here are our impressions
- the recreation of Hogsmeade is quite impressive, you feel like you are in the movie, not much to do other than shop but it is worth to stroll the area
- the first day we visited Hogsmeaded was the 26th, it was a (very) cold and rainy day, so did the Harry Potter ride in the castle. The wait was only 30 minutes by 9am but it grew longer throughout the day.
- the Harry Potter ride is fine - the reproduction of the castle is nice, but the ride itself felt a bit overrated and somehow outdated (technology wise)
- the second day, the 27th, the rides for Harry Potter had a wait of about 3 hours (the weather was no longer rainy). We decided to go to other Universal attractions, and then watch the show of lights at night. By then, there is a line to get into Hogsmeade - in fact, you can't do much by that time because of the show, so plan your visit before 5pm
- the show of lights is fine and it is worth watching, but it is also ok to skip if the lines are too long
- our teens wanted to try "butter beer." It tastes like vanilla cream soda, or like root beer float without root beer. It's ok.
- souvenir stores are actually nice but you will be able to find the same items in the large store in the exit of the park
So, super cool area, felt like in the movie. The rides and attractions are fine, but lines are long, and I wouldn't mind missing them if the lines are 3 hour long.

A Must Experience for any Harry Potter Fan!
Oct 2019
They did a great job of replicating the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios in Orlando. I wouldn't consider myself a big Harry Potter fan and my family really enjoyed this attraction. The details that you will notice especially for big fans of this character.
When you step into this area you will feel like you stepped into one of the Harry Potter movies. It has everything you would want and can imagine. The Hogwarts Castle is unbelievable! I would recommend riding and checking out every ride and attraction and they also have live performers (check the map for times of the shows). They offer beverages and snacks that you will recognize from the movies.
When you step inside this world expect a lot of people and long lines unfortunately but you won't be disappointed after each experience. The cost into Universal is worth it to a true fan of Harry Potter just to get the full experience of this area alone. Plus you get to check out everything else Universal has to offer (once it opens back up due to the virus).
No better way to experience Harry Potter than visiting the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter." If you go you won't regret it!

Amazing, but crowded
Jan 2020
This section of Universal Studios was the most crowded section during our time at the park. Understandably so, because it is amazing. But it was frustrating to try to work our way around that area. They do a good job in managing the crowds in the stores, which did help. We got to ride the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride twice because it stopped part-way through. One of our favorite rides at the park. Make sure to try the butterbeer!

Great for Harry Potter Fans
Mar 2020
If you love the Harry Potter books and movies you will really enjoy this part of the universal studios park. Good recreations of the movie scenes, and it's great seeing many of the visitors dressed in the "house" cloaks like the hogwarts students. Great selection of gifts for the fans.

disappointed
Feb 2020
As a huge Harry Potter fan, this place is a bit disappointing especially after visiting the one in Florida. If you have gone to the Florida one, don't waste your time here.

How long does it take to explore the Harry Potter universal
Olwethu-Thando K
Cape Town Central, South Africa128 contributions
Exploring could take just an hour - but immersing yourself in the entire experience could take up to 3 hours.
Seriously, I took the whole ass day to do the other par rides and experiences, and didn't even get a chance to properly shop at HP land, because I had to stand in the queues for the rides you cant miss - them queues is LONG!

There is a shop easy to find that is right under the castle. That is the simple one to explain how to find and I know that it is in that one. But sure that you can find in the other gift shops as well.

Planning to visit Los Angeles at early December, thinking of booking a Go Los Angeles city pass which includes our entrance in universal studios and I was wondering if you have to pay something extra for the Harry Potter experience or also if there is a reserve option(I’ve read somewhere about it).thank you for your time😊

Planning to go to Universal Studios Hollywood this coming Wednesday (September 25). How crowded do the rides for Wizarding World get on a weekday? Should we plan to head to these rides first thing when we get to the park or can we do it anytime without waiting too long?

If you have older kids or adults, consider the single rider line. No, you won't get to ride together but the wait time is considerably shorter and you don't have the additional FastPass cost. Not a good option for groups/families wanting a group experience.

If we plan on going mostly just for Harry Potter, should we buy the VIP passes to cut to the front of all of the lines or is there a fast pass kind of thing where it’s not VIP and tour guided, but puts you in front of lines?
Breonie J

I was there in December over the Christmas holidays and the lines are not too crazy so you shouldn’t need the VIP pass as long as you are happy with say 20-30 min wait per ride.

On the Universal Studios website, the only tickets you can buy appear to be for the entire park/ do not specify. I only want tickets to the Wizarding World and no other part of the park, Where on the website can I buy these tickets?

The Wizard World of Harry Potter is inside the Universal Studio park. There is no specific pass if you only want to see Harry Potter.
