If you’re passing through Lone Pine or staying around for a while it’s worth your time to take a drive on Whitney portal drive up to the top of the hill. you’ll see a beautiful waterfall, lovely trails ,and just awesome breathtaking scenery really. it’s not gonna take you a lot of time to make the trip ...linger as long as you want or just take the drive and head back down. really awesome views and beautiful scenery.

This is a beautiful hike, often alongside the creek. A few waterfalls along the way. Some pretty meadow areas. Very well maintained trail.

Located within Alabama Hills, this small campground is adjacent to a tranquil creek. The area around the creek is dense with foliage and provides a shady respite from the strong sun. Looking through the trees, views of the grand Sierras are always in view. There are numerous hiking trails in the immediate area including the nearby Whitney Portal. The campground adjacent to the creek has very well maintained public restrooms.

LONE PINE CREEK is a great place to just get off of the 395 for a bit, hike around or just bring a lunch and some cool drinks and enjoy nature at it's finest. If you don't want to get out and get your feet on the ground, take a nice relaxing drive instead. Cheers
