On a back road behind a residence you'll find El Sol Winery. This winery is different than most - upon entering you'll be greeted and shown to a table, and the friendly pourers will come to you. Tastings are $5 and $10, 75% of the wines are reds, most aged longer than most other wineries. Complimentary barrel room tastings where... More

Went for the LVWGA "Wine Wednesdays." Didn't know what to expect and was very pleased. Wine maker specializes in letting wine age longer than most. Several different whites and reds available. Definitely worth a visit.

The wine is excellent....especially the sparkling! Very fun to bottle your own especially when the wine is so lovely. The tasting room.....the setting....so relaxing....the jewelry to die for. The owners, Hal and Cathy, make everyone feel relaxed and oh so special!

Ambiance very interesting, view of grapes and broken down old sheds Tasting room not bad and they readily take a group for barrel tasting, which is always a treat. Sadly, the wines for an area... I have never been to a winery at which I liked every wine I tasted...until now. El Sol was recommended by friends, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The Estate Syrah is outstanding, as are the Carignan and Movedra. The high quality makes sense when you meet Hal. He cares as much about his winemaking as he does... More

This lovely place is out of the way, in truly, the rural if not scenic Livermore Valley...Lovely staff and unusual service, sitting at tables being served wine surrounded with a open space view and interesting interior "boutique" items. All this said? Overall? I think these are some of the poorest quality wines I've had in a decade. I think they... More
