Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a very low-key, one-man operation. Tom, the business owner, is flexible and approachable. He usually opens at 8:00 a.m. but will arrive early upon request (he did that for us). He offers one and two-person kayaks at very reasonable prices. Rentals are by the hour, and he takes cash or credit cards. Unfortunately, he does not have an address, although he had a phone number. Thus, he is located by going to the parking lot across from the Tioga Lodge. There is a small road there that leads down to his business. The shed you see here on Trip Advisor is no longer there due to a fire (according to Tom).

The Kayaks are in great condition, although only ocean-going Kayaks are offered. Tom asks that you bring a cell phone on the boat so he can call you in if bad weather is imminent. Going out early is essential as the afternoon wind usually stops rentals by 1:00 p.m. Additionally, you need to roll, wheels are provided, your kayak down and back to the water. This journey is about 200 yards. Individuals with health problems might find pulling the kayak back up too difficult.

Mono Lake itself is beautiful. We had it all to ourselves. The tufu structures are the area to navigate to. Tom will point you the right direction. We saw several Osprey on our outing. This is the best way to experience the soul of the lake.
