This lake sits in a glacial canyon and is beautiful no matter what time of year. The road in can be problematic during the winter so check ahead. The lakes level is determined by the amount of winter snow and the demands of LADWP. So depending on the time of year can be full to the brim or a "pond".... More

This is more of a big pond than a lake, but it is a great place to fish. We did really well last year, not so much this year. People were catching fish to the right and left of us, but we only got one. Thanks to kindly folks, we got two more given to us so we had dinner!... More

Incredible hike into a steep canyon. Color in the rocks, colors in the trees, beaver ponds, waterfalls in the stream running down the middle of the canyon, cascades running down the canyon walls, it was like a never ending series of postcard pictures.

We went here looking for fall color based on recommendations. The color was okay but we were a little early. We did not do any hiking in the area as we were looking for photographic opportunities. It was a quite busy place on a sunny Saturday.

The scenery from the lake is just stunning, we had a picnic at one of the picnic spots and then went for a short walk along the lake edge and it was very peaceful. It's also a nice place to see a bit of nature - I spent ages watching Jays and squirrels playing.

Beautiful nature!!! No hook ups. Clean port a potties. Honor system camping. No reservations. The Lake Lundy "Resort" is a little fishing store at the far end of the lake, rental cabins, & motor boat rentals. Campsites are set in Aspen and Pines. Spacious. Simple. Close enough to Lee Vining where you can get a shower at the RV park,... More

We drove up to check this lake based on a recommendation of a fellow camper. Due to the ongoing drought on this side of the Sierra, the lake was very low and crowded near the dam. The marina at the opposite end was nice and had basic supplies if you forgot any. Limited fishing spots from the road unless you... More

We returned for a visit June 2016 to Lundy Lake. We finally had a good winter, so the lake was very full. It was wonderful to see. We also drove just beyond the Lake to see the beautiful meadow area with the panorama mountain views. The aspen trees were beautiful. Fishermen were out catching trout. People were camping at Lundy... More

A little over 700 feet of altitude change took the better part of 3 hours due to the steep incline coupled with abundant loose snow and strong winds. Beautiful views.

We hiked into Lundy Canyon last week to take pictures of the fall colors. It's a rough trail at times, but well worth the effort. The colors were beautiful and the waterfall is quite awesome.
