No joke there are 1,000 steps to this beach. Bring out of shape, I huffed and puffed my way up and down, but local exercise enthusiasts run up and down these steep steps for fun. Yikes! Once on the beach, the views are magnificent, and the sunset is breathtaking. There are mansions at the top of the cliff - including... More

This beach is well worth the hike down and back up the steps! It's a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful waves crashing up against the shore!

Although i grew up in Niguel Shores (above Dana Strands beach), 9th and 10th street beaches in South Laguna were always my favorites. Clear beautiful water and waves that really crank on a SW swell. Now that I live in Seattle, I can;t visit as often but when down in SC always try and make it...

1000 steps is a fun beach to go to and gets you in shape. The steps really feel like a million when you are walking up them but going down is nice and gets you a pretty view. Be sure to be careful and pay attention since some people use the steps for a workout and you want to stay... More

Really enjoy this beach, not overly rough surf and nice wide beach area. The approx. 300 steps are easy if you are even half decent shape and it's a beautiful cove atmosphere,

Believe it or not, this was just a quick visit for me. We came down here, parked and walked over to the steps and I went down, turned around and came back up. Just had to do it. One of those check the box things! Saw a couple people exercising, and it is a work out. Guess is a favorite... More

We went here with my bf, wonderful place to work out! Get those glutes work out, going up and down...this also leads to the beach. A little private (somteimes it can get crowded) beach area for workout/sunbathing.

we are currently training for the ascent up Mt. Kilimanjaro and have found that this is the best place for that kind of workout. 218 steps (not 1000) up and then back down. do as many sets as you want. it's a great workout. the steps are very steep. I'd guess probably 100% grade (8" up, 8" step), so you... More

It's one of the many nice beaches in the area. The stairs are steep, so pack light -- you probably don't want to carry a lot of junk down to the beach and then back up while dodging people who are exercising. I don't know for sure about winter weekends, but I don't believe there are lifeguards on duty during... More

parking is hard to find and can be dicey on PCH. Ocean is rough and not suitable for inexperience Pacific Ocean swimmers, although there is a lifeguard. Clear water and beautiful crashing waves make the 237 steps back to the street worth it.
