Lafayette reservoir is a beautiful place to go for a walk, run, hike or boat trip. I like to go for about an hour, which is about how long it takes to walk around the lower, paved 3 mile trail, but there are longer, more...More

If Lafayette has one iconic "attraction", it's the reservoir and its' brick intake tower rising up out of the water. "Reservoir" is not a very good description as it is more like a lake with dam/paid parking at one end and the rest basically undeveloped...More

It always refreshes my mind and revitalize my body walking the reservoir. It's an easy walk with some elevation. Awesome views and generally a world away in a heart beat.

Scenic two and half mile paved walk around the reservoir. Also has more ambitious unpaved trails leading off of it.

Great place for a walk, trail is almost 3 mi around the lake. There is also a ridge trail which is a little more strenuous .

Came here over Memorial Day weekend with my husband to take a walk at The Lafayette Reservoir. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't crowded during our visit. We loved seeing nature during our walk (turkeys, geese, squirrels, various birds, etc) on paved pathways. There...More

You can "power walk" around the reservoir, have a picnic with family and friends, and there is a playground for children. That's fine and thousands do. But, it could be much more. The reservoir discourages and prohibits music in the park, except for a very few...More

If you are not a member of the park you can use the parking meters. I think it cost about $1.50 for an hour, maybe less. The park is very safe. You can walk on the paved part around the lake. It is a popular hike and there... More
