It was really cool seeing the surfers and walking on this very large beach. There were shells everywhere.

Kayak tours launch from here, divers practice and get PADI certified here. There are fire rings. 2 mile round trip walk to the pier and back. Nice to walk however please use extreme caution when entering the water. This place has a high, a very high and we'll documented high volume of people getting stung by stingrays. The news reports... La Jolla Shores has it all. It has free parking, large grassy park, kids play area, and a great beach. In addition, it has places to eat or buy snacks or get swim gear just a short walk away. It's a guarded beach with separate areas for swimmers and surfers. The beach has a gentle slope for small children and... More

The beach is beautiful and clean. Access is easy even for disabled people. From there you can do all sorts of water sports but also play sports and have a barbecue on the beach. There is a big playground for little kids. The only con point is that parking might be a problem.

Busy, but nice beach. You can relax all day, BBQ, play beach volleyball, or whatever you desire to do at a beach. I saw dolphines swimming just 100 meters off the shore, and a few sand sharks (small and harmless sharks) that were lurking around in the waves. All San Diego beaches have relatively cold water.
