Very Nice Campus

Great to take a walking tour. There's a food court and cafes on the campus. The library and Jacob's School of Engineering are a must see.

The University has it's awards and value, but it's buildings are horrendously ugly... almost as ugly as the Padres stadium downtown, which is probably the ugliest building on the planet.

We drove through the campus when we missed our turn onto Torrey Pines Rd. If I had gone to college here, I'm not sure how much studying I would have done. It's located near the coast in La Jolla, but not waterfront. UCal Santa Barbara has it beat in that regard.

Check out a play at what is rated as one of the top schools for Drama, besides Yale.. Visit Scripps Aquarium, comb the underground tunnels, read in the Sam Geisel library (named after its docent who is the Author of the Cat in the Hat) and then catch sunset at the Glider Port next to the Salk Institute. There is... More

I don;t think a campus can get better than this, in terms of location. Great university. Spent a couple of days here for training a while ago and then visited again. After some hard work-out of your brain, you can relax by watching the pacific shores from the campus.

Spick and span, calm and quiet UCSD is a serious student's dream campus. It may not thrive in summer term as it likely does during the rest of the year, but summer is when prospect students (and parents of) can get a read of its inner vibe. Academics reign here, as they certainly should at a top tier university. Sadly... More

I am admittedly a little biased about UCSD because I worked there for 13+ years before retiring in the spring of 2013. It's a great institution and for those students lucky enough to get in -- a phenomenal place to get an education. As am employee I was proud of being part of such an amazing institution; I was also... More

UCSD has such a neat campus. I used to go there running every couple of weeks. Tourists must take a look at the Geisel library. If you have more time, go for a run/walk in the UCSD woods meant for cross-country runners.

We've been on a few campus tours recently for our youngest who will be a senior in high school. UCSD offers great location being in La Jolla. Our student guide was good but not so ebullient. The buildings seem old and except for the futuristic-looking library, the architecture throughout the campus is nondescript.
