The place is mainly run by volunteers, who are all passionate about what they do. The Aquarium itself is amazing with three different experiences one with a huge tropical fish biome. I also got to see a 300kg Salt water Bass he's as big as a speed boat and a Sea turtle who at 30 years old is still considered... More

This is the perfect aquarium to take small children to. Not too big and not too small. They have a small hands on pool with a docent explaining stuff. Also a couple areas inside where you can touch sea creatures. All the tanks have a step in front of them so little ones can get up close and personal. Very... More

Went to accompany a school expedition. My 10 year old was with his school group and among other things dissected a squid. For the rest of the family, (three adults and one kid) we paid roughly $60. It's a lot of money for about 1 and a half hours of fun. It's interesting but really expensive.

Easy access for slow walkers but likely mosquitoes lurking in those woods by the parking lot. Not really crowded on a Sat. & the exhibits were well-cared for and interesting. For adults touring alone about 2 hours is enough time.

One of our favorite stops in San Diego, the aquarium had a wonderful variety of fish, sea horses and touch exhibits for small children.

It was raining very hard so we didn't spend much time at the outdoor displays. We truly enjoyed the indoor displays especially the ones that were relevant to the San Diego coastal waters and the San Diego Bay. Nice place to visit and reasonably priced.

We visited in the pouring rain. Plenty to do indoors. We did the outdoor touch pond quickly but enjoyed the indoor exhibits. Not many other places in the San Diego area to entertain tourists when it is raining. This is a good choice.

A visit to Birch Aquarium is a lovely, peaceful way to pass an hour or two. Quiet location with wonderful views. Not too big, not too small. Interactive exhibits. indoor/outdoor.

The view from the aquarium is gorgeous. For the price it is a great deal with a lot to see. The tanks are clean and well maintained

This was my second visit to Scripps Birch Aquarium. My favorite part is the sea horses exhibit/s. They are such fantastical creatures. I also love the colorful live coral, and the more vibrantly colored fish, things not seen even at Sea World.
