This amazing little beach was within walking distance of our beach rental. It's very rocky and the waves are rough, so it's not necessarily great for sunbathing or swimming, but it's incredibly beautiful. The beach is small, quiet and unspoiled. It's also a hot spot for surfers, which was really fun to watch.

One of my favorite beaches in all of the world. An iconic surf spot...but only for experts...because its a heavy wave. Mind the tides because at high tide...not much sand. Swimmers chould be careful...the currents are pretty strong.

I used to live a block away from Windansea Beach, and I can vouch for the beautiful sunsets we'd see every night, no matter the season. There's a special vibe at the beach. It's accessible and the surfers are the same ones mentioned by the Beach Boys way back when. Buying a sandwich at El Pescador and coming down to... More

We lived 3 blocs away and never missed a chance to go the beach. WHether you sit on a bench (premium) or on the rocks, there'sno better show than the waves coming in a lapping over the rugged geography of Windansea beach. Oh,and that susnset.

I really like this beach. It's much quieter than La Jolla Shores or La Jolla Cove but still a lot of people out on a nice day or night. Parking may require some patience but it's worth the view. Very peaceful.

Great local surfer spot, big waves, lots of rock, best sunset views, pet friendly beach - parking is a problem

Such a beautiful and peaceful area to watch a sunset. There is not as many people there compared to La Jolla Cove. Also a great place to take pictures.

Windansea Beach in la Jolla is beautiful and appeasing. I went with a friend and there were not too many people. The sand is clear and comfortable to lie on. On a good day, there are great surfers to watch catching waves!

There's actually a connection of coves here, one of which is Windandsea. Street parking between Palomar and Belvedere is pretty easy. Good place to watch surfers and the sets roll in. The paved walkway makes it accessible for most. You can keep walking north from here, but you'll have to do some jutting around the neighborhood streets.

Windandsea beach is a classic southern california cove style beach. There are nice cliffs to sit on and catch the sunset from. Not for swimming.
