Not the biggest ski resort in Japan, but probably the best access. Only a 2hr drive from Tokyo by car or less than an hour on the Shinkansen (only 500m from the station). Located right next to the station and outlet so a great destination...More

Apparently this is mainly for beginners or familes, but most benefit is snow machines that covering quite wide area.

Look for Michiyo Hashimoto from Lion Snowboard School. She's fantastic. Patient, encouraging and speaks great English. She is located at the Ski centre. Runs kids and freestyle classes...
