Devoted to the city god. Various Taoist temples, ancient trees. Not exceptional but certainly worth visiting as one of the 6 attractions on your tourist ticket.

If you are even remotely interested in historic temples, do not skip this one. It was the most beautiful and interesting temple we visited in Pingyao.
The entrance with all the animal features and the surroundings provides some unique atmosphere that is worthwhile sensing.

If you don't have Chinese, you should either have a guide or give the Temple of the City God very little (or no) time. It is a fairly pretty setting and the sculptures are interesting but there's so much else in Pingyao! It's much better...More
Do you like old tempels and lots of statues ? Then this is the place for you. All the colours are on the old statues. Worth a visit !
