The beach itself was a little grey with lots of litter everywhere until you reach serendipity beach but it is worth it to get a tuk tuk (around $4) to the far end then walk back along to serendipity as it is really nice and quiet with lots of little crabs

I strolled down to the beach. It's noisey, dirty and packed. It's very popular with locals. Who through no fault of their own have a different perspective from me when it comes to what to do with an empty container or bag. So I just kept on walking.

Took a walk along the beach yesterday. A lot of rubbish everywhere. If there wasn't so much it would be a semi decent beach. Fire over to Otres instead.

Spent a week here in feb. Nice beach with great temp in the water. Calm sea so everyone can swim. Many restaurants on the beach, and the staff is mostly friendly. I heard that it should be over crowded in feb, but there was very few people here during daytime. Somtime you have over hundred meters of beach for your... More

O beach is as packed with people as the worst European beaches. Beach shack restaurants crowd the sand all the way along with street vendors filling any gaps which are left. The place is untidy with lots of litter. We couldn't wait to leave.

I found the scene at Ochhheuteal not to my liking. Lots of day visitors with cars and loads of tour buses doing dat trips. I'm sure the service can't be anything but impersonal given that hordes come for one days visit. In my experience if a restaurant doesn't expect to see you again they don't really bother to give a... It's a famous beach for hand out, locals, restaurants, and everything you are looking for, but it's the worst beach for sunbathing : i would rather aim to Otres beach if you want to chill out, or even independance beach, or the islands

Things have not improved since our last visit. Ochheuteal Beach is about a mile long, stretching south (looking left) from the boat pier. It's broadly in four sections: first, numerous beach front bars and restaurants of varying quality (popular/noisy/lively/busy); second, small snack huts/tables; then a clear tree-lined section (very quiet); and finally at the far end a few bars/restaurants (peaceful)... It is dirty, dusty, full of shacks and esaurats hat don't inspire any trust. There was a sewer on the beach, that says it all. To avoid by all means.

Beach looks great from a distance but as you get closer you start to see all the rubbish on the sand and in the sea. The sea also seems dirty and polluted, lasted a couple of minutes in there and decided it was best to get out. Otres beach is a short walk over the headland - much cleaner and... More
