This park has so much to offer - Lovely walking trails through oak and along near the water. Amazing Campsites right on the Lake (some are premium cost and book ahead of time). There is an open beach with showers right on the lake for day use, boat launch facilities, fishing. It's truly a gem. Just be careful in summer,... More

I live 5 minutes away from the beautiful Clear Lake State Park and it is a great walk to the beach area, takes about 1 hour. I really want to launch a Kayak off the beach but haven't done that as yet. I see quite a few vacationers fishing along the creek. If you are into green smoothies, healthy bunches... More

My buddy wanted to have his Bachelor Party as a camping trip, and we booked a nice spot at the Kelsey Creek Campground. It's really close to the boat kick off are and swimming portion of the lake. The entire area was also surprisingly clean in spite of there being so many people there. The area was way more popular... More

Wondering if clear lake stater park is suitable for swimming mid July? Last time we drive across 20 it was thick w algae. Anyone there now can comment, would love to enjoy an afternoon enroute to Sac.

This state park is Near Kelseyville, Ca. It was recommended by the locals as a good place to visit to see birds and wildlife of the area. There is a $8 entrance fee for each vehicle, so the visit is pretty inexpensive. Saw grebes, osprey, bald eagle, green heron, blue heron, yellow headed blackbirds, a lot of waterfowl and a... More

A little crowded, however. Good safe boat launch. Safe swim area. Adequate camping spaces, but not very private camp spaces. Poison oak in abundance... Abundance! Learn to identify poison oak before your stay. Good kayaking area. Nice service/restrooms. Overall a god park.

Stayed here recently with my family. The lake and slough were full. The park was full of families and couples enjoying the outdoors. Within first hour of visit, identified 12 different bird species. We saw frogs, turtles and fish swimming in the water. Park staff were friendly and helpful (We never encountered Officer Conner). Swimming area was pretty good too.... More

I live in Lake County, CA & since Clear Lake State Park is only 5 minutes from my home, I go there often to either run on the park roads or walk on the various hiking trails in the park. The park & the restrooms are kept very clean .The beach & some of the campgrounds offer great views of... More

Long story here, please read through to the end. I was on Cobb Mtn. when the Valley fire decimated our entire community on Sept 12th 2015. The house my dad built is gone, like 100's of others in our neighborhood. Mateo (my dog) and I fled the area, just getting out ahead of the firestorm. We bounced around a bit... More

We drove through this park to launch our boat into Clear Lake. The park is beautiful and well wooded with Shade. The staff were very friendly at the gate and made us feel welcome. If I was looking to camp or spend a day hiking this would be a good park to do it in.
