There are two walks... One is trivial, one is not but the "interesting" walk is great fun

We were a little caught out by this trip because the walk was described as a "Tourist Walk", suitable for anyone. It turns out there are two walks. One is a view point over the Cisterns and (aside from a narrow path with very steep edges) there is nothing challenging about it. Very little up/down hill and a nice view at the end. The other walk is much more interesting. There is a point where the path branches and you can go up a short set of steps (6 steps) or you can go down a path (switch backs continually until you reach the river bed). This second route is much more rewarding, you go down to the river and then follow it upstream. You have to cross the river three times by wading through. The first time you can use stepping stones but not the second time, so don't get hung up on dry feet! After not too long you reach a spot where the Cisterna is on the other side of the river from you (crossing 3) and then you have to climb what can be generously called a ladder, but is actually some branches tied together with shoe laces. The climb is only about 6ft or so but there's no point doing the walk unless you're willing to make this climb. It's all about getting into that little basin - absolutely beautiful. The waterfall is pretty low flow (more of a dribble) but leads to a very green wall dropping into a fabulous pool - bring swimming kit if it's warm. A word of warning - after the walk you might fancy a coffee and cake (or lunch). You won't find it in Bolognano - we didn't find any form of sustenance there other than fountains for filling our water bottle.

it's quite hard to find it considering the fact that signs direct you in the waring direction. to get to the place you have to go to the river not to "cisterna" as it is written on the signs. great beautiful place

Waterfall visit

Wow, what an adventure not for anyone who has any issues getting around, very steep hills and lots of big rocks to manoeuvre over, and definitely do wear flip flops, the waterfall is a welcome clear pool that is very cold but refreshing

Nice natural spot to see

This place is less impressive than they try to show it by the pictures on the internet. Anyway it can give you some pleasant hours in a basically wild nature! Don't forget the most comfortable shoes you have, lots of water, maybe some snacks, and a swimmimg suit - and enjoy your day!
