At least when I visited, it was really muddy on some of the paths, so it might be worth wearing something better than sneakers.

Possibly the best expanse of beach on the Half Moon bay coastside. Romantic at sunset, plenty of sand for castles and cavorting.

Lovely place for a walk along the beach. Windy and sunny. A great combination with lots going on along the beach with surfers and kite surfers. A nice place to visit.

Half Moon Bay state beach is a really nice place to visit especially when it's sunny. You have a really good see food restaurant nearby( I don't remember the same) with a wonderful view.

Visiting family at Stanford. Excellent beach to enjoy waves and shops in little Beach town. I would enjoy camping here I'd I had a tent or motorhome. It wasn't crowded but it's spring. Very pretty and clean. Nice 40 minute drive through hills from campus.

While traveling the Pacific Coast Highway, we stopped at Half Moon Bay State Beach. It was very windy and cold but the beach is very clean & the views beautiful. There is camping availability, restrooms and a $10 parking fee.

Hi there, Has anyone stayed at the hike-in campsites? Are they first come first served? How far away from the parking area are they? Thanks!

The walk-in sites are within 50 yards of parking. There is one small parking area at that corner of the campground that is for the exclusive use of tent campers. If you go to Google Earth it will take you to Dunes Beach... More

Depends on when you want to visit. It gets sold out quickly around summer and also during the Pumpkin Festival. Other times your easy to get in whenever you want.
