Beach is clean. Plenty of parking for $10 on weekday in December when we went . There's a walking trail. If you are mobility impaired, it will be difficult to physically access the beach itself, unless I missed seeing stairs or a ramp. The ground is quite steep from the parking lot to the beach, and we assisted family members... More

Not a lot of visitors here, a few surfers, heavy waves, nice walking along the beach. 10 Dollars parking fee but the rangers were happy to point put some alternatives. Travel along the route 1 and you will find more beaches where you do not need to pay.

This was a stop on our road trip up the coast of California. Nice easy place to get out of the car, stretch your legs, walk the beach, use the bathroom, etc.

Nice scenery and sandy beach. Nice to see the birds sat on the sand. Parking is 10 dollars. Shame they don't have a refreshment van.

Very nice beach but it cost $10 to park in the lot! There's a cute little visitors center and some bathrooms as well.

We picked up a picnic at a local supermarket and drove down to the beach before heading to SF international airport for our flight home, about 30-40 miles away. Perfect weather, picnic tables right down on the edge of the beach and an unhurried lunch; what's not to like?

I have been to the US four times and each time I have stayed in or visited Half Moon Bay. This has got to be my favourite holiday destination and if I could I would live here. It has beautiful coastline, a lovely town and pleasant people. Can't recommend it enough, although I know the locals do find it a... More

It doesn't matter where you are in California, north or south there is a beach for everyone's pleasure and the Half Moon Bay State beach is just the ticket for walks, listening to the waves crashing in and enjoying the beauty of nature. There are other entrances to the Pacific Ocean but this is one of my favorites.

The views here are gorgeous. It's also very peaceful and not crowded (at least when we were there in October). Baby gulls were playing on the beach!
